Greetings Spelman community,

Spelman College President Mary Schmidt Campbell, Ph.D., will join the United States Conference of Mayors and Verizon for a roundtable discussion on dismantling racism.

The event is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 7
, at 2 p.m. EST on Verizon's LinkedIn page.

The second in a five-part series of national roundtable discussions, the event will bring together representatives from the private and public sector to discuss recommendations and actions needed for cities to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, facilitate a rapid economic and employment recovery, and cultivate a more equitable distribution of income and wealth for all Americans.

Tom Cochran, CEO and executive director of the United States Conference of Mayors and Hans Vestberg, CEO of Verizon will serve as co-hosts of the roundtable, which will moderated by Andy Sewer, Yahoo! Finance Editor-in-Chief. Additional guests include Mayor of Atlanta, Keisha Lance Bottoms; Marc Morial, CEO and president of the National Urban League; City of West Sacramento Mayor Christopher Cabaldon and City of Augusta Mayor Hardie Davis, Jr.
